The artist Nikolay Zhukov was employed in the 1930’s by the Soviet Union to design tourism posters to encourage visits to the land of Communism. One such piece was deemed too Avant Garde for the regime. Only a partial photo remains in the family archive. Henry Milner was commissioned to recreate this lithograph. The result formed the centrepiece for an exhibition and book on Intourist posters. A limited edition of the lithograph was produced by Stanley Jones.
