The Royal Institute of British Architect’s London Summer Show, Architecture Open, launched at Pop Brixton as part of the London Festival of Architecture. The exhibition was designed by Henry Milner and contains works from large architectural practices such as Stirling prize winners Stanton Williams, to emerging practices like vPPR, to the exciting works being produced by students. From the hundreds of entries 35 submissions were selected for the exhibition. Henry Milner’s design showcasing the winners expands to fill a steel shipping container. A pathway through a density of cables is created inviting the visitor to venture within. Highlighted from their own utilitarian boxes, each architectural entry is caught in suspension within the lattice of cables.
‘Thanks Henry, it was absolutely fantastic working with you. We are totally thrilled with how everything went. We had about 12,000 visitors who came to see the show which is astonishing. We had a huge amount of positive comments about your exhibition design. You made the show into something really remarkable.’ Anna Leader, RIBA
